The Teacher Tuckshop is all about my passion for education and art. As an educational consultant and 14-year veteran NYC public school teacher, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges and opportunities in one of the most segregated districts in the country. This has inspired me to advocate for the value of education and challenge its commodification.
My journey as an educator and advocate took a creative turn after a trip to Mexico City, where I was introduced to the powerful artwork of Diego Rivera. His work sparked a significant shift in my thinking, leading me to pursue art as a way to initiate meaningful conversations about the necessary changes in education.
The Teacher Tuckshop will ideally be a platform for driving positive change. Through unique designs and thought-provoking artwork. It is my aim to ignite conversations and raise awareness about the need for equitable education.
